VIsualiZation and Adaptive Real-Time Storytelling

Welcome to our Research and Development collaboratorium, where researchers, Film Talent and Techies address the challenges of the Future of Virtual Production, Generative AI and interactive Real-Time Storytelling
Together we research and develop solutions such as:
– Generative AI for 3D Location creation
– Virtual Production camera tracking
– Real-Time Visualization, animation and Motion Capture Tools
– Control of physical Lights in an virtual backdrop setting
– Real-Time Interactive Narratives
– Adaptive Real-Time Storytelling Experiences
We always exploit the newest Media- and Game Technologies in our research and development of new tools and workflows.

Why?
In order to create novel forms of filmmaking and (interactive) storytelling it is essential to both research and develop new tools and workflows and not least acquire hands-on experiences on how AI and real-time technologies can contribute to more efficient and creative productions without increasing the budget.

How?
At ViZARTS, researchers, film talents and techies share this knowledge by collaboratively exploring, researching and developing novel engaging forms of storytelling using state-of-the-art AI, interactive real-time media- and game technologies.

What?
The ViZARTS Labs and Workshops are ‘Exploratoriums’ where participants research, explore, experiment, test and produce new filmic experiences together.
At these labs the workflows, we have developed, are incorporated in the activities. Here novel technologies can be tried hands-on and filmmakers can meet with technical experts, researchers, game developers, programmers, production designers, students from a wide range of educations and other like-minded enthusiasts from institutions, organisations and businesses.

Our events have also included short inspirational R&D HyperTalks, DeepDIve workshops and The ViZARTS showcase cinema.
Originally, eight ViZARTS hands-on Workshops/Labs and two R&D Summits were organized (2018-20).
Participants at the Labs produced short, engaging “micro-productions” that could be experienced on the big screen or other platforms.
Four Additional workshops with the theme “Real-Time Filmmaking” were then conducted (2021-23) and finally four workshops concerned with “AI and Virtual Production for Filmmakers” were arranged (2023-26)
